Praising the effort, and not the result.

A piece I wrote on Praising the effort of children, and not their result - was published in Deccan Herald Living.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Hi Shruthi, what a coincidence! Today my son's class got to know their exam marks. His teacher apparently told all the kids that she knew how hard they'd worked and that some of them had shown so much improvement. She also told them to tell their parents not to focus only on their marks but on how much they had learnt this year. I think it was wonderful of her; like my son, I'm sure all the kids (no matter how much they "scored") went home feeling good.
You make really good points in the article.
