Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan 2007

I am overwhelmed by the mails requesting me to put up the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan schedule for this year, like I did last year. I am still looking for it. If I find it, I will put it up here. Please watch this space.

Btw, it started yesterday. Tune in to your local station every weeknight at 10 pm, and at 9 30 pm on weekends.

Enjoy.

Update on 29th Nov 2007 - I got the schedule, and here it is. Thanks to Dr. H.R.Krishnamurthy, (Dy. Director General, Prasar Bharati (South Zone), All India Radio, Bangalore), who promptly sent the schedule to my parents.

hmmm... I'm a bit lost here.

I tried searching for the Radio stations on which this 'Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan' is being aired. The AIR Bangalore stations are:

Medium Wave: 612 KHz (i could only hear cricket commentary at 10:15 AM today)

FM:
102.9 MHz - FM rainbow, nothing here
101.3 MHz - prasarbharathi, no sign of the flute program here too
100.1 MHz - couldnt tune to this freq.

Can anyone help me regarding this.

Thanks,
Anoop

Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan is a ritual that is best avoided. Another example of government buearacratic inefficiency.
Broadcast at late hours this one hour program lasts less than 50 minutes! The worst part of it is that it clashes with the Chennai music festival, and the Chennai relays of the festival concerts are curtailed.

This is to help Anoop.

For night concerts you can tune 100.1 MHz (Known as Amritavarshini" )in Bangalore. It is on only in the evenings from 6pm-10pm).From 10 pm onwards on week days and from 9.30 pm on weekends they relay Sangeet Sammelan.

All radio Stations of Akashvani-(Mostly in Medium Wave-because FM stations are fully hijacked by commercial cosiderations with some exceptions like Amritavarshini) are supposed to relay it during the day and also at night

But whenever cricket match is going
on all activities in the world become subservient to it. One can only feel frustrated!

thanks nagraj.
I'm able to tune to a very weak signal on 100.1 MHz (FM), the MW station at 612 KHz has much better reception.

I used to be a regular listner, but not now since I am at work, but my parents listen. Nice to see someone putting up a post relating AIR, and also so many comments as well. I grew up listening to AIR.

Madanmohan, the king of ghazals gave a separate dimension to the sweet voice of Lata. Most of his compositions had ghazal andaz and Lata could use her classical base with her expression to provide life in the compositions.
