A wedding on the cards?

I am telling Puttachi the story of little Shruthi and little S~, and their exploits, and how they grew up and got married and got a little baby. I have reached the point where Shruthi and S~ have got married.

Puttachi: Papa and you got married?
Me: Yes, Puttachi.
She: Like X and Y?
Me: Yes, dear.
She stares off into space, and I allow her to digest the information or try and visualize the scene or however it is that two-year-olds process shocking information.
After a while.
She: Amma, but I did not attend!
Me: Yes, mari, you were not born yet.
She: (getting teary-eyed) But Amma, I want to attend!
Me: But the wedding is over, baby, wait, I will show you the snaps.
She: I don't want to see the snaps, I want to go to your wedding! (She stands up and pulls my hand) Amma, take me to yours and Papa's wedding!

What say, S~, time to renew our vows? A good reason to go on a second honeymoon, at least! :D

On your wedding day, did someone wish you both, " many happy returns of the day"?

When Appa was a little boy, he used to tell his mom and dad very seriously, and he really believed it, that he had been to their wedding. Everyone would have a good laugh and ask him various questions like where he had been sitting, who was wearing what clothes, and he'd have some or the other answer.

Somehow he seemed to have mixed up memory of some other wedding! :)

Just today, Jaanamari asked Appa 'Appa appa, nin kathe hELu' (Appa, tell me YOUR story)

This is so sweet! I thought that my kid would ask me that question when I showed her my video, but she never did - I think it's really a cute q.

And yes, any reason is good to go on a second honeymoon (or even third one! ;)

Renewing the vows unfortunately happens only when S~ turns 60 :)

The wonderful difference between a little girl and little boy simply manifests itself in how these little ones react to stories. M was also very upset about not being there for his Appa & Amma's wedding. That momentary pang lasted all of 2 minutes. He was more interested in finding out which car Appa & Amma got married in and how fast that car went !! Couldn't for the life of me come up with a convincing end to the story.

So cute - My son once burst into sobs saying the same thing. He pointed at his cousins in our wedding album and started bawling that only he was not there for our wedding! Really nice post and do we really need a reason to go on a second honeymoon ;)
